Oil Spill in Alaska
For many years there were many protests about the environment and how things were going, especially here in Alaska with all of the “tree huggers” and environmental groups going on and on about one cause or another. Things have calmed down somewhat now and seem to be a little easier to deal with when things go wrong.
There recently was a small oil spill in Alaskan waters and you could see in the response that those earlier feelings had mellowed a bit. People were now saying that a little oil in the water wasn’t too bad for the fish . . . they are cooked in ‘oil’ . . . so maybe they’re marinating.
Here’s a little recipe to make those oil covered salmon turn out great on the grill . . . Enjoy!
Bligh Reef Encrusted Salmon
Ingredients:
4 tablespoons softened butter
2 tablespoons lemon juice
1 package Simply Organic Exxon Marinade Mix
1 to 1 1/2 pounds salmon steak — minimum of 1-inch thick
2 tablespoons lemon juice
1 package Simply Organic Exxon Marinade Mix
1 to 1 1/2 pounds salmon steak — minimum of 1-inch thick
Preheat grill.
In a small bowl blend butter, lemon juice and Exxon Marinade. Lay salmon on grill using a fish grill plate, skin side down. Spread a thin layer of butter mixture on steaks.
Grill eight to 10 minutes or until salmon is just flaky.

Times they are a changing.
