Coffee, is my Friend
Two nights going on about coffee, who'd thunk?
Last night brought about a breakdown on the highway after work. It was cold, dark, and snowy. I tried to nurse the vehicle back to my house until late into the night but to no avail. Finally I had it towed to the dealership for repairs.
Remember that question when you signed up for your vehicle insurance, “Would you like to add the emergency towing service?” Always, always, always say YES to that question. It will keep you from going over the deep end when you have to use the service. You make the phone call to the insurance company toll free number and they call and send help to tow the vehicle. It is not quite “Onstar” but helpful none the less.
The wrecker service took about 45 minutes to show up and take my “rig” (Alaskan term for truck) to the dealership. It was almost painless other than the time wasted trying to get home. I wish I could say the same for the repair cost so I can't wait till I see what this will cost to fix.
Long day and longer night and I didn’t make it to play my computer game with friends or have a “night” cup of coffee so it was off to bed after a nice hot shower.
Work has been really busy for everyone here as we are setting up a work camp for the oil companies trying to get equipment and vehicles to a remote camp being set up on the North Slope at
We moved 10 oversized tractor/trailer trucks loaded with mobile offices, trucks, and trailers (Conex) full of equipment to
Over one million pounds of freight was shipped in 3 days, a record for my company in setting up a remote camp up on the slope. The activity of all of the equipment being loaded into the conex’s and then loaded onto trailers made our office compound a busy place lately.
I was tired this morning and ready for some much needed coffee as the activities began again today when it occurred to me that coffee is like Viagra for the brain.
After you drink coffee, your brain may still be small and ineffective, but at least it will function.
I do look forward to my morning coffee, my midday coffee, and my late night coffee. Maybe there is something to be said for that.
I have breakfast with friends almost every Saturday morning if we are in town where we tell stories, drink coffee, and laugh a lot setting the tone for the day and weekend. Tomorrow is Saturday so I look forward to another gathering.
Hit me again, Vicki
I'll have another cup.
