Cellar Dwellers . . .

Many people hold on to their past and for some it is like an anchor that holds them back from being happy or living an abundant life.  To truly live abundantly in the present, we must dismiss the past and in many ways the future.

Life concepts intrigue me as we must learn to accept this universal truth, now is all there ever is.

We are here right now . . . in the present . . . no past, no future . . . Only now. Nothing else exists, besides this present moment.

Think about that for a minute.  Now that is a reality check for sure.

Fantasy Land is where you are when you spend your time thinking about the past or the future.  The power of our mind, we can make the past feel very real, however it is not real.  Your fantasies of the past may seem very real, our mind is quite powerful, but they are gone in an instant.

Have you ever heard of placing a picture of a new car you wanted on the mirror and everyday looking at the picture and telling yourself that you will one day have that car?  The mind creates from these images and situations where for many it will come to past getting that car.  You should be specific as to color, interior, make, model, and accessories.  The mind will create from what visuals you give it.

Many people continue to live the same scenarios over and over again, because they are constantly thinking about the past.  Whatever you think about, you bring about.  You will naturally create, in your life, whatever your consistent dominant thoughts are.  If you continue to focus on past events in your life, you will continue to recreate situations that are similar to what you are thinking about.  If you are negative in your thought process you will probably be close to other negative people, it is just common sense.

Every moment that you spend in your head thinking about the past or possible futures, you are missing what is happening in your life, at the present moment.

Do not miss out on your life because you were not ‘present’ in many of the moments in your life.  Do not spend time regretting the past or wishing things were the way they used to be or wishing things were different by fantasizing about a possible future.

Remember, the future is not real and will not be real, until it becomes the present moment.

I have heard people say that all we have is our memories.  That is true but I disagree with that statement.  Every time we get too caught up in our memories, good or bad, we are missing this present moment.  Every moment lost can never be recaptured.  Memories are just snapshots of events in our past, a way to log moments of our lives within our brain so we can bring up those thoughts at a later time to reflect on our choices, to replay events that happened and to honor those we knew who have gone on ahead.

If you are ready to start living abundantly in the present moment, then start appreciating every moment.  Start feeling gratitude in every single moment of your life.  Be present . . . NOW . . . put all of your focus on the sights, smells, & feelings that are right in front of you and within you at every moment.

Get out of the cellar.  Climb up to the surface and see the world around you. Stand in the waters of abundance and let the waters flow through you renewing your strength, resolve, and open your mind up to all the possibilities out there.

If you continue to practice being in the ‘present’ on a consistent basis, you will notice your whole world changes.  You become more alive, colors become brighter, food tastes better, intimacy feels more intense, feelings become stronger, everything is more alive, because you are more alive.  The only way to feel truly alive is to be completely present.  This is what happens to great athletes, artists, musicians and performers.  They all experience a heightened experience with all of their senses, because they are completely, one hundred percent, focused on their present task in the present moment.

When you can allow yourself to be present in any given moment, you have the potential to experience deep inner peace. You have the power to experience an abundance of joy, love, total inner peace and fulfillment.

I say all that we have is this present moment, right now.

Now is all that matters.

Or I could be wrong . . . but I think I am on to something.
