Life Observation # 65

“The user does not know what he wants until he sees what he gets.”

For some reason it seems every Saturday morning at breakfast I experience that little observation.

I meet up with several friends at a local eatery every week and the people who drop in are a mixed bunch of interesting people. Most of us have either worked together at one time or another or in one of the related trades associated with the construction industry.

It seems as we sit and drink coffee and swap stories over the course of several hours there comes the time when we need to order our breakfast. Most of us know the menu from memory as we have been coming to this restaurant for over four years now. Every week there is at least one or two people who cannot decide what to order . . . every week the same thing.

Eventually we all order and receive our food and as soon as our waitress put the plates down one of us will say something on the order of, “Man I wish I would have ordered that!” Or “Oh that looks good I should be eating that!”

Why is it we can never make up our mind . . . only after a visual can we decide and usually after a long drawn out debate?

Our resident “Bear Whisperer” kept us fascinated with stories about his camp and the 10 to 15 bears that hang out together. A mix of grizzly and black bears who normally would not live together in harmony but seem to tolerate each other over the years in this place. These wild animals are fascinating and frightening at the same time but it still amazes me how incredible this land in the far north can be and the people who live here.

It has been crazy here the last few weeks as my brother in law is back in town from his work rotation of 90 days out and three weeks home at “The End of the World” on “The Rock”, Shemya Island. My father in law also flew up for about two weeks from Utah so it has been a full house and many activities to take care of while they are here.

Are Showing Your Nipples Appropriate Work Attire?

Let me first say that personally, I have no problem with it at all. This has been kind of a weird week here in the north land with the first of many winter snowfalls’s to come and the landscape once again beautifully covered in the white stuff. It looks like the kids will have to put their Halloween costume on over a snowsuit again this year as the cold snowy stuff is here again. That is not what I wanted to write about tonight but was necessary to set up what I did want to write about. “Frosty nipples” are quite common here during most of the year and when things cool down on the cusp of winter probably more so. Work attire with tight shirts or low cut blouses that ‘make a statement’ during colder weather could be taken several ways by co-workers or visitors to your place of business. Biscuits and Whores
